SoE/SoS-Call For Application For Admission In Undergraduate Programs-2026

Kathmandu University (KU) calls for application for admission in Undergraduate Programs in School of Science (SoS) and School of Engineering (SoE) for the academic year 2026/2027. Candidates are required to appear in the Kathmandu University Common Admission Test (KUCAT), in either PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Maths) or PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), according to their choice of academic program. The Entrance Exam will be conducted in the mode of Computer Based Test (CBT).

Eligibility Criteria and CBT Test Group For Admission
  • Applicants must have completed 10+2 or equivalent with:
    • Minimum GPA of 2.0 or 50% aggregate marks or equivalent
    • A-Level: Minimum 3 A-level subjects and 1 AS-level with PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics), or PMCs (Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science) combination. Whenever percentage uniform mark (PUM) criteria are provided, then, aggregate 50% in percentage scale will be applicable. If PUM is not provided, Grade D in PCB/PCM/PMCs will be applicable
    • IB Diploma: Minimum 6 subjects with PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics), or PMCs (Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science) combination. Students must have a final IB grade of 3 in each course separately
    • CTEVT Diploma Holders: Eligible for related disciplines, subject to equivalent percentage criteria.
      Foreign Boards:Must present equivalence from the KU authority at admission
  • Applicants must appear in the Kathmandu University Common Admission Test (KUCAT) Computer-Based Test (CBT 2026) (except for Bachelor in Health Informatics) in either PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) or PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) test group
  • Students from the Biology stream must have taken and passed Additional Mathematics for PCM test eligibility.
  • Candidates awaiting Grade 12 results may apply for provisional admission, subject to meeting requirements

  • BE in Geomatics Engineering*
  • BArch (Architecture)**
  • Bachelor of Information Technology***
  • BTech in Artificial Intelligence
 Programs offered by SoS:
  • BSc in Computer Science
  • BSc in Computational Mathematics
  • BSc in Applied Physics
  • Bachelor of Data Science
  • Must have passed with subjects PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) or PMCs (Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science) in both XI and XII (or equivalent)
  • Students from the Biology stream must have taken and passed Additional Mathematics for PCM test eligibility.

PCM
 Programs offered by SoS:
  • BTech in Biotechnology
  • BSc in Environmental Science
  • BSc in Bioinformatics
  • BSc in Agriculture
  • Must have passed subjects PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) or PCB (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) in both XI and XII (or equivalent)
  • Students from the Biology stream must have taken and passed Additional Mathematics for PCM test eligibility.
 KUCAT-CBT Group:
PCM or PCB
 Programs offered by SoE:
  • +2 Science or equivalent or three years in Diploma in Engineering, Science, Technology and Health Sciences (Nursing, Health Assistant, Pharmacy, Lab Technology)
No need to appear in the KUCAT-CBT. Consult with the Department of Health Informatics (https://dohi.ku.edu.np) for admission procedure.
* Candidates applying for BE in Geomatics Engineering scholarships need to fill up a separate form for scholarship after the publication of "CBT rank-based list"
** Candidates applying for Bachelor of Architecture must pass the aptitude test conducted after the CBT rank-based list publication.
***  Bachelor of Information Technology program is offered in Affiliated colleges only.

  • Center 5: Pokhara
